General Manager Victoria Fox says the AHCC team have learned a number of important lessons since its founding just over five years ago. These have helped to develop strategies that form the foundation of how the successful business operates today.

“Always listen to your clients / customers and learn to love feedback. It is often our clients that have some of the best ideas on how we can improve.

“After all our business’s sole purpose is to serve our clients needs, so everything we do should be centered on how they think we can give them a better experience,” says Victoria.

“Building relationships is key with all your businesses stakeholders. We do this best by making sure clients, suppliers and other stakeholders always deal with the same team members.

“We have found this to be the best way to develop strong long-lasting relationships built around trust.

“Developing and investing in your team is critical. Make sure your team is getting every opportunity to learn new skills that will help develop them as a person and develop their ability to better undertake their role.

“Team building and downtime for the team to spend together is also crucial in ensuring we remain a tight, supportive and positive unit.”

Victoria believes it is these strategies and team values that have enabled the business to be recognised as Australia’s best Business Event Venue for the last two years in a row (2017 and 2018).

“Australia boasts some amazing Business Event Venues and we knew the competition would be intense.

“However, the award is testament to the hard-work and dedication of our team who continuously strive to deliver outstanding results.”

Looking ahead for the next ten years, Victoria hopes for the AHCC to still be doing what it does best, “delivering conferences, weddings and events that are second to none”.

As for the immediate future, the Hahndorf Resort in which the AHCC is located, will undergo a significant accommodation room expansion to cater to even bigger corporate retreats and weddings.

“We are also currently exploring options for a range of AV equipment upgrades that will allow us to offer even more advanced AV services to our clients,” Victoria says.
