Welcome to our latest newsletter, the TiCSA Tourism Snapshot, for August 2023.
Over the recent months, TiCSA has been working hard to support South Australian tourism businesses through our advocacy, ensuring your concerns are voiced and your needs are met. Our recent work has seen us actively engaged in:
Presenting to the Shadow Cabinet, highlighting our industry’s importance and policy priorities.
Meeting with Minister for Tourism, the Hon Zoe Bettison MP, to provide vital feedback on State Budget funding outcomes. Notably, we’ve emphasised the priority for ongoing, strategic investment in destination marketing.
Corresponding with the Premier and the Treasurer post the State Budget, advocating for ongoing, strategic and sufficient investment in destination marketing efforts for South Australia.
Advocating to the Minister for Transport, Tom Koutsantonis, to amend overly burdensome restrictions on accredited ‘Special Purpose Vehicles’ which are inconsistent with other states and result in significant costs for our long-distance tour operators.
As your peak tourism body, TiCSA remains committed to advocating to Government on behalf of our members and the broader industry, and delivering programs and activities to help your business remain resilient and thrive.
