Welcome to our latest newsletter, the TiCSA Tourism Snapshot, for June 2024.

It was fantastic to see so many of you at the South Australian Tourism Conference last week. The event was a resounding success which would not have been possible without so many of you investing in the time away from your businesses, as well as the support of our sponsors. The Conference brought together industry professionals, stakeholders, and thought leaders to discuss and explore the future of tourism in South Australia. Our keynote speakers shared insights on innovative practices, sustainability, and the evolving landscape of travel, ensuring that South Australia remains at the forefront of global tourism trends. Read below for some of the speaker highlights.

The 2024-2025 State Budget has been unveiled, with several noteworthy allocations aimed at bolstering the tourism industry. It is pleasing to see the $20.8m allocation to accelerate adoption and consumer awareness of a distinct South Australian destination brand through marketing and regional support We look forward to working with the Government and the SATC to continue to build industry capability across the state to fully realise the potential of the brand when launched. We also look forward to welcoming David Koch as the new Chair of the SATC Board when he joins next month. I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the significant contribution of outgoing Chair Andrew Bullock and the contribution he has made as steady leader during challenging times and record-breaking growth.

Finally, entering this year’s South Australian Tourism Awards has become an even more exciting proposition thanks to an enticing package of marketing perks for winners thanks to the SATC, including up to $75k worth of marketing opportunities for those businesses that go on to win gold at the Australian Tourism Awards being held in Adelaide in March.
