Advancing Tourism Business Capabilities Program
The Advancing Tourism Business Capabilities Program is designed to strengthen South Australia’s tourism industry by specifically supporting micro, small, and family-owned businesses through practical, hands-on coaching.
Eligible businesses can access up to four hours of one-on-one support with expert coaches. From strategic planning to digital literacy, this coaching program presents a unique opportunity for businesses to strengthen their skills in key areas, encouraging business resilience and future planning.
Program Streams
Businesses can choose from a range of focus areas, depending on their business needs:
Stream 1 – Tourism Business Operations
Get support to build on your business foundations and enhance your business and tourism offerings. From immediate solutions, new systems and processes to long-term planning, our coaches will help address immediate challenges and set your business up for sustainable growth and success. Take advantage of experts in tourism essentials, risk management, finanical management, business and strategic planning, leadership, sales and marketing.
Stream 2 – Digital Literacy
In today’s fast-moving digital landscape, being tech-savvy and cyber aware is non-negotiable. This stream helps you strengthen your digital skills, enhance your online presence, and use digital tools more effectively to boost engagement and reach. Our coaches can assist you with online marketing, social media, and cyber security.
Extend your Quality Tourism credentials
All businesses participating in Stream 1 or 2 will be able to take advantage of two hours additional coaching from our in-house Quality Tourism business advisor. Set yourself apart from your competitors and take your business from great to excellent by upskilling and expanding your Quality Tourism acumen.
Aboriginal Business Coaching
A dedicated coaching program to strengthen and grow Aboriginal-owned tourism businesses. Small businesses who meet a minimum threshold of 60% Aboriginal owned can receive 10 hours of tailored business coaching with an industry expert to establish business fundamentals, develop business accumen, and put in place essentail tourism operating requirements.

How to apply – Stream 1 & 2
- Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI): Complete the EOI form with details about your business and the areas where you need support.
- Make payment to secure your spot: If your EOI is confirmed, our team will direct you to the payment portal to complete payment for your session. Sessions are $50 for TiCSA members and $90 for non-members.
- Get matched with a coach: Based on your EOI, TiCSA staff will connect you with the most suitable coach from our coaching panel.
- Start your coaching journey: Work closely with your coach over 4 hours to gain insights, strategies and tools tailored to your business goals.
Sessions are available to TiCSA members and non-members.
