South Australia’s tourism industry welcomes Round 3 of the Great State Voucher Program, which has been expanded to include hosted tours and experiences.
Tourism Industry Council South Australia (TiCSA) CEO, Shaun de Bruyn said this is a fantastic initiative to expand the successful scheme.
“The expansion of this program has been a key advocacy priority for TiCSA as our tour and experience operators have been some of the hardest-hit sectors due to the pandemic,” said Mr de Bruyn.
“Forward bookings have been particularly challenging for these sectors as they rely on interstate and overseas markets.
“With JobKeeper set to conclude at the end of the month, it is pleasing that the State Government has listened and are now taking action to provide much-needed support to these businesses.
“We believe these vouchers will provide a strong incentive for locals to book tours and experiences that they otherwise would not purchase, which will help to keep these businesses operating until international borders reopen later this year.”
