South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC)
Main role: marketing of South Australia as a tourism destination, events, access and infrastructure
The SA Tourism Commission markets the state’s tourism product intrastate, interstate and internationally to ensure that South Australia is a part of any Australian holiday. It concentrates on developing the state’s competitive strengths – vibrant Adelaide, food and wine, festivals and events, and accessible nature.
Main role: Australia’s national platform for digital tourism information on Australia
The ATDW system is a central distribution and storage facility for tourism industry product and destination information from all Australian States and Territories. This content is compiled in a nationally agreed format and electronically accessible by tourism business owners, wholesalers, retailers and distributors for use in their websites and booking systems. Main role: providing useful information and tips to help familiarise visitors with the local area
There are 40 Accredited Visitor Information Centres (VICs) across the state. South Australian Visitor Centres are a great source of information and inspiration, providing visitors with quality service and reliable insight on what experiences and products are on offer.

Australian Trade Commission (Austrade)
Main role: tourism policy, programs and research
Austrade works on a range of tourism policy, projects, programs and research to strengthen Australia’s tourism industry and to grow Australia’s tourism market share in a volatile and competitive global environment.
Main role: marketing Australia internationally
Tourism Australia is the Australian Government agency responsible for the international marketing of Australia as a destination for leisure and business travel.
Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
Main role: research
The ABS is Australia’s official statistical organisation. By providing a high quality, objective and responsive national statistical service, the ABS assist and encourages informed decision-making, research and decisions within government and the community.
Tourism Research Australia (TRA)
Main role: international and domestic tourism research
TRA is Australia’s leading provider of quality tourism intelligence across both international and domestic markets. TRA collects research and intelligence across the whole tourism industry and undertakes respectable, reliable research and analysis. TRA produce both the IVS and NVS reports.
