NATURE-BASED TOURISM & HERITAGE TOURISM CAPABILITY PROGRAM

The South Australian Department for Environment and Water (DEW) has recently launched two new small grants for businesses interested in developing nature-based tourism (NBT) and heritage tourism experiences. South Australia’s nature-based and heritage tourism sectors are established and progressive. However, they has significant potential to grow and become even more significant contributors to regional communities, employment and the economy.

The grants in a flash:

Nature-Based Tourism Small Grants: $300,000 program with grants available ranging from $2,000 to $15,000. No co-contribution/matched funding required.

Heritage Tourism Grants: $250,000 program with grants available ranging from $1,000 to $50,000. Matched funding required.

Applications close 2pm Friday 3 December.

TiCSA is delivering a support program for businesses seeking to apply for either of the grants which has two elements – ‘Road Test Your Idea’ and ‘Grant Application Review’. 

 

1. Book a FREE 30 minute ‘Road Test Your Idea’ appointment

A fantastic opportunity for applicants to seek advice on their Nature-Based or Heritage Tourism Grants concept prior to application writing and receive insights from a panel of tourism industry experts.

2. Book your FREE ‘Grant Application Review’ session 

This is a fantastic opportunity for prospective applicants to have their nature-based tourism or heritage tourism grant application reviewed by an independent specialist prior to lodgment.

Register via the event page and your allocated reviewer will be in contact to schedule an appointment between the 22nd to 30th November.

Applicants will be required to provide their draft grant application to the expert at least 2 days prior to the appointment.

Do you have a bigger idea for an ecologically sensitive tourism experiences and products in South Australia?

DEW’s $5 million Nature Based Tourism Co-Investment Fund remains open until June 2022 (unless funding is exhausted prior to this).

TiCSA will continue to offer ‘Road Test Your Idea’ sessions and ‘Grant Application Review’ sessions for these grants as well.

PARKS 2025

The $5 million NBT Co-Investment Fund is part of DEW’s $22 million Parks 2025 strategy and will provide the stimulus and support which businesses need to activate or build on existing ecologically sensitive tourism offerings in the state’s national parks, reserves, botanic gardens and Crown land.
